Families of persons abducted during Abuja-Kaduna train attack to get briefings on rescue efforts – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari says the military is doing everything to ensure a safe return of those abducted during the terrorist attack on the Abuja-Kaduna passenger train.

The President has therefore directed the management of Nigerian Railway Corporation, NRC to immediately set up a situation room for coordination of the rescue mission and for a minute by minute engagement with the families of the train captives.

Speaking on Monday when he received residents of the Federal Capital Territory on a Sallah homage at the Presidential Villa Abuja, President Buhari again ordered security agencies to ensure quick and safe rescue of all victims of kidnapping in the country.

The President noted that the Abuja Light Rail is one of the major projects embarked on by his administration for the FCT inhabitants adding that the development of infrastructure is essential to economic growth.

Earlier in their remarks, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the FCT Minister, Mohammed Bello said despite the various challenges confronting the country, it is noteworthy that the people are still together as one

Other speakers at the event expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its myraids of challenges.

The FCT residents also presented a life size Sallah greeting card to the President.
