Police Arrest Kidnap Syndicate in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command, Sunday released a Press Statement that it has arrested five suspected armed robbers in different locations across the State.

Spokesman of the Command, Ikenga Tochukwu says the suspects are members of a syndicate responsible for over 25 robbery incidents in the State.

The Detectives say those in custody were arrested in Oko, Orumba North Local Government, and Neni in Anaocha Local Government Area.

According to the police, on searching the residence of the suspects, one berreta pistol, three motorcycles, one axe, three matchets, one police belt, one sumec generator, thirteen different brands of phones and other incriminating items, were recovered.

The Statement notes that the State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng has commended the gallantry of the personnel in tracking down the suspected hoodlums, while assuring residents of continued peace and security as the Force is doing its best to weed out criminals.
