In response to the recent decision by some states to shutdown schools over fears of abductions linked to rising banditry, the Zamfara State Government has clarified that all schools within the state will remain open until further notice.
Commissioner for Education, Wadatau Madaki, made this known during an interview while addressing concerns about the government’s position as one of the states affected by bandit activities.
According to him, schools located in areas considered insecure had long been closed, and the state currently operates no functional boarding schools. He added that, for now, there is no plan to shut down additional schools due to insurgent threats.
