Abductors demand fresh N20m on Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School Children

Abductors of the students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina in Niger State are demanding a fresh ransom of twenty million Naira from the parents of the children.

The abductors of the one hundred and thirty-six students placed the ransom after burying four of the students, who died in their captivity.

They are also demanding, apart from the twenty million Naira, six motorcycles.

Already, the parents of the children have constituted a Three-man Committee, to scout for the money, Members of the committee have left Niger State to source for the ransom, to secure the release of their children.

The death of the four students was conveyed by one Qasimu Daragana, who was also abducted by the bandits when he went to deliver thirty million Naira earlier.

Qasimu explained that he did not see the corpse of the students, though he was shown four graves where the pupils were said to have been buried.

The abductors of the children have separated and kept them in groups.

The Principal of the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School, Tegina, Garba Alhassan, confirmed the fresh demands of twenty million Naira and six motorcycles by the bandits.

So far, the parents of the abducted students have paid fifty-five million Naira, with no success of the children being released.

The parents are calling on the state government to intervene, as they have become apprehensive about the fate of their children.

The bandits have been keeping the children for over two months since being abducted from their school in Tegina, Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State.
