The crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress, APC in Kano State has taken a new dimension following the emergence of a new ward executive from Ganduje ward, which issued fresh suspension on the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
At a news conference held in Kano on Sunday, the new group from Ganduje ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area claimed to be the legitimate and authentic ward officials, validly elected on 31st July, 2021. They subsequently issued a fresh suspension on Abdullahi Ganduje, citing anti-party activities and other offences.
Secretary of the Ganduje ward, Ja’afar Adamu who is said to be a nephew of the suspended APC National Chairman spoke on behalf of 11 other executive members. He accused Ganduje of igniting conflict of interest that led to two factional executives in the ward, thereby bringing the party to disrepute in the eye of the public.
Adamu notes that, those two other factions claiming to be party officials from Ganduje ward are impostors orchestrated by Ganduje and other bad elements in the party. According to this new group, the Ganduje ward leaders would not hesitate to institute legal action against the two factions who earlier addressed the media claiming to be a ward executives.
Calls made to the APC State Publicity Secretary were not responded to at the time of filling in this report.
