As part of efforts to prevent crime, the Abia Government has launched the state’s Crime Prevention and Management System, CPAMS.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in Umuahia expressed the hope that the system will be capable of providing solutions to policing, not only in Abia State but Nigeria as a whole.
According to the Governor, except through digitalisation, time will come when police officers will find it difficult to cope with the new waves of criminal activities.

The Commissioner for Homeland Security, Dan Okoli and the coordinator of the programme, Endi Ezengwa among other speakers at the event, believe that with the new system, crime will reduce in Abia State and beyond.
Government authorities say, the Crime Prevention and Management System is the first of its kind in Nigeria, and has the capacity to deter criminals and improve community access to security agents.
