The Abia State Police Command says it has arrested the police officer who allegedly raped a student of the State’s Polytechnic, Aba.
His name is Nwachukwu Chinedu. Recall that students from the institution recently protested against the alleged rape of the student by personnel of the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, in Aba.
In a press release by the Commands Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police Command expressed regret over the disgraceful act allegedly committed by the police officer.

According to the statement, after visiting the victim in the hospital and obtaining information from her, an investigation was carried out which led to the arrest of the suspect.
The Abia State Police Command while appealing to the polytechnic community for calm, assured that Justice will be served on the matter.
