Residents of Abia State have expressed shock over the death of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in the State, Professor Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne.
Those who spoke to ait.live on Wednesday shortly after news filtered in of Ikonne’s passing described it as devastating.

Prof. Ikonne was until his death an optometrist professor and had served Abia State in several capacities including as Rector of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, and as the Vice Chancellor of the State-owned University, the Abia State University Uturu.
