Farmers in Abia State, South East Nigeria, are seeking for more support from the state and federal governments, to ensure food sufficiency in the state.
Speaking during a program at Ntigha, Isialangwa North LGA, the national president, National Apex of Nigerian Farmers Co-operative Society, Nwogwugwu Uzoma, noted that for Nigeria to revive her economy through agriculture, local farmers must be seen as a major player in the sector.
While commending the federal government for the provision of agricultural imputes, Uzoma and other farmers believed that mechanised farming will greatly help to boost the economy.

The union also created business linkages for farmer cooperatives across the country, unites the entire farmers cooperatives under one umbrella and also sources funds and agricultural inputs for members cooperatives.
