Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State says his administration is committed to the development of the State University Teaching Hospital, ABSUTH, Aba.
Governor Ikpeazu gave the assurance when he received a delegation of the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria led by Professor Edmond Wanah at the Government House, Umuahia.

The Governor further assures that promotion of staff welfare and payment of salaries will be made top priority to ensure that the institution bounces back stronger.
Governor Ikpeazu, further promised that the State government will provide whatever that is required to support the school, to make progress and expressed satisfaction with the quality of Nigerian Doctors in the institution.
Leader of the delegation, Professor Edmond Wanah while commending the Governor for the giant strides recorded in the State, said his team had inspected the State’s medical school to ensure that standard is maintained and appealed to the authorities to keep the programmes on course.
