The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu says his administration will soon commission the pilot schemes of Agro based cottage industries in the six selected Local Government Areas of the State.
The Governor who spoke in the commercial city of Aba, explained that the industries will reverse rural-urban drift as well as boost the economic fortunes of women and youths at the grassroot.

According to Governor Ikpeazu, an Indian firm is presently installing machines for the take-off of the projects.
The Abia State Governor announced that a new primary Healthcare center is being built in Ozu Abam while a brand new General Hospital, already completed in Nkporo will soon be commissioned.
He further revealed that henceforth, General Hospitals located in various communities would be manned by indigenous doctors and nurses.
