Former Military Head of State, General Abdul-Salami Abubakar (Rtd), has commended elders of the North-Central zone for taking measures that will address infrastructural decay in the region.
General Abubakar said the elders have justified their relevance by taking the bold step to champion a cause that will address the infrastructural deficit and turn around the fortunes of the region
He made the commendation when elders of the zone led by former Minister and Senator, Jeremiah Useni, visited him in Minna, the Niger State capital.
The former Nigerian Head of State said that championing the course of establishing a North Central Development Commission is a welcome idea that is long overdue.
The leader of the delegation and Chairman Board of Trustees of North Central Peoples Forum said that despite its strategic position, the zone is contending with the challenges of insecurity and general infrastructural decay.
Other members of the delegation resolved to ensure that enough consultation and contributions are done to achieve the desired objectives.
The delegation also visited former Military Head of State, General Ibrahim Babangida, to seek his blessings and advise.
