Demolition

Thousands of houses, shops, and property worth millions of naira have been demolished in the Jabi district of the Federal Capital Territory as bulldozers from the Department of Development Control moved to the site.

The demolition came after the expiration of several notices issued by the relevant authorities to the owners of illegal structures and shanties that have become a hideout for criminals in the area.

The Director of the Department of Development Control, Mulktar Galadima, said there is no going back on its drive to remove illegal structures and shanties in the Federal Capital Territory is a task that must be achieved.

Chairman of the ministerial task team, Ikharo Attah, warned FCT residents to desist from acquiring land illegally.
