As Nigeria joined the rest of the world to mark the International Day to end Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, a non Governmental Organisation, Activists for Good Governance, has called for the release of detained journalist and publisher of Cross River Watch, Agba Jalingo.
Jalingo is standing trial at the Federal High Court, Calabar,on charges of terrorism, treason, cultism, and attempt to topple the Government of Cross River State.
His case has been adjourned several time while he is remanded at the Calabar Correctional Centre.
Speaking with journalists in Calabar on the state of security and continuous detention of the social activist and journalist, Coordinator of the group, Comrade Declan Ihekairie, said despite the inhuman condition they have subjected Jalingo to, he shall come out stronger and continue to speak for the people.
Responding, lawyer to Jalingo and former Attorney General of Cross River State, Attah Ochinke, said there is no problem with Jalingo security, saying he is innocent until proven otherwise.
