The Court of Appeal, Federal High Court as well as the FCT high court sitting in Maitama have been shut against lawyers litigants, court officials as well as the general public in compliance with the directive given by the national body of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria JUSUN to embark on a strike.
The union began the industrial action despite the intervention of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.
The CJN had asked that the union hold off the strike to allow for negotiations with the federal government.
JUSUN is calling for the release of statutory allocation by the accountant general of the federation based on the 2025 appropriation in which arrears of wage award , minimum wage and the 25-35% salary increase were captured.
