The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, who doubles as the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Bishop Stephen Mamza, has tested positive for Covid-19.
A statement released on Sunday by the office of the CAN Chairman said the Bishop started showing symptoms of the virus and subjected himself for testing which came back positive.
Bishop Mamza said in adherence to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, protocol, he has gone on self isolation.
He called on the public to adhere strictly to the preventive measure which Includes washing of hands, observing physical distancing, and the wearing of facemasks as the coronavirus is real.
The CAN Chairman is also a member of the Adamawa State COVID-19 containment committee.

Adamawa State has now recorded 206 confirmed cases of the virus with 32 active cases undergoing treatment, 159 of the cases have been discharged while 15 died from Covid-19 related complications
