The Peace, Conflict Resolution, and Social Integration Commission has been inaugurated in Yola by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.
The commission, established by Adamawa State Law No. 14 of 2020, is tasked with conflict prevention, non-violent resolution, and promoting peaceful coexistence.
Despite several efforts by the Adamawa State government to address cases of farmer and herder crises in its communities, farmers and herders have continued to be at each other’s throats in some of the communities, following encroachment of farmlands by cattle belonging to herders.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the state remains committed to ending the confrontation, a reason why he came up with this 19-member commission, through a law signed in 2021, and gazetted in 2022, with the mandate to wade into the issues, and suggest possible solutions, that will end the reoccurring crisis.
