Adamawa wet season farming: State Govt. provides fertilizer for farmers

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State on Monday flagged off sales of fifty four thousand litres of organic liquid fertilizer for 2022, wet season farming.

It is part of efforts by the state government to assist farmers improve their yeilds so as to achieve bumper harvest

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has continued to intervene by making fertilizer available to farmers at subsidized rates.

The product which include NPK, Urea, and Folier rice will be sold at four thousand naira per bottle as against the market price of six thousand naira.

The governor said that his government resorted to providing the product as an alternative to application of inorganic fertilizer that is currently being banned by federal government for security reasons.

According to the Governor, experts have certified the procured organic liquid fertilizer as safer, healthier and environmental friendly capable of increasing farm yield.

The Commissioner of Agriculture, Umar Iya Daware thanked Governor Fintiri for providing support to farmers targeted at improving food production in the state.

On his part, the Programme Manager AADP, Adamu Muazu commended the government for procuring the organic liquid fertilizer in good time despite the present economic challenges in the state.

Malam Usman Michika who spoke on behalf of farmers, praised Governor Fintiri for addressing farmer herder conflicts in Numan, Demsa and Lamurde among other areas that helped farmers go back to their farms.
