National leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has moved to resolve the lingering crisis within its Kaduna State chapter, appointing former Minister of Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman, as Coalition Chairman to oversee party affairs and drive reconciliation. Usman is the National Chairman of the Peter Obi faction of the Labour Party, LP who was appointed to replace embattled Julius Abure
Addressing a media conference in Kaduna, the ADC National Vice Chairman, Northwest, Ja’afaru Sani, said the party is prioritising unity among opposition actors, warning against political interference which he alleged is aimed at weakening the ADC in the state.
He also announced that coalition leaders have agreed to sanction expelled members who filed legal action against a national leader of the party which is an internal dispute he said has slowed the ADC’s progress.
The ADC says it remains committed to rebuilding confidence among members and presenting a united front ahead of future political engagements in Kaduna State.
