Hours after the Senate rescinded its decision on the rejection of electronic transmission of election results, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, of as described the reversal of the controversial provisions in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill as a major victory for Nigerian citizens.
ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in a statement, credited the sustained public pressure, both online and offline as people’s power.
The party says the development serves as proof that united civic action can overcome partisan manipulation.
The ADC urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue applying pressure until the bill is fully assented to by the President, properly gazetted, and formally becomes law.
