Amid the ongoing deepening internal crisis in the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), following the suspension of recognition of the David Mark-led NEC of the party by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the leadership of ADC has declared that it is determined to proceed with all plans for its forthcoming nationwide congresses and national convention scheduled for April 14.
In a statement by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi emphasized that the party had fulfilled all procedural requirements by notifying INEC 21 days in advance of its planned activities.
Abdullahi revealed that the Commission had acknowledged receipt of the 21 days notice, but the Party will not be deterred by electoral body’s current stance, even if officials of the Commission fail to monitor all the exercises.
INEC made its position on the leadership controversy known on Wednesday due to an internal dispute currently before the courts.
