Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has congratulated the Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke for emerging winner of the Osun 2022 governorship election.

Governor Obaseki in a statement signed by him, attributed the victory to God and the people of Osun whom he says made their choice through the ballot, choosing the PDP and its ideals of equity, unity and progress over the retrogressive policies that have held them captive these past years.

The Governor noted that the party stood with the people to send a clear message to Nigerians that it is prepared and ready to rescue them from the hardship and woes that they have been thrown into.

Obaseki lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for sustaining the electoral reforms which started in September 19, 2020 with the Edo State governorship election.

He says the reforms ensured a peaceful, fair and credible conduct of the election, which gave the people the freedom to elect their preferred candidate.

The Governor reiterated the PDP’s resolve to remain steadfast in the commitment to rescue Nigeria adding that by the Osun victory, the PDP is fired up to go into the 2023 general elections to win.
