Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been held to a scoreless draw by their Rwandan counterparts in an African cup of Nations qualifying match in Kigali.
The encounter played at the Amahoro stadium in the Rwandan capital saw the Super Eagles create more chances in the first half but could not find any goal even as Ademola Lookman’s first half strike was ruled out by the referee.
The trend continued in the second half with the introduction of reigning African Footballer of the Victor Osimhen adding bite to the Super Eagles, attack.
But a combination of resolute defending and good goalkeeping meant the hosts Rwanda were able to keep the Super Eagles attack at bay and hold out for a draw.
With the result , the Super Eagles now have 4 points from 2 games and remain on top of the group D log of Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers pending the outcome of the encounter between Benin Republic and Libya holding later tonight.
