A socio-cultural organization Afenifere has called on President Tinubu to take bold steps to address the country’s worsening security situation.

The information was contained in a Communique, made available to Africa independent Television AIT and signed by the Deputy Leader, Oba Oladipo Olaitan emphasized that Nigeria’s vast territory and population cannot be effectively secured with a single command unitary police structure

Afenifere therefore renewed its call for Restructuring to facilitate the establishment of state police.

It also urged President Tinubu to release leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu who they consider a political detainee in the interest of justice and national reconciliation.

They argued that there is no justifiable reason to continue to hold him without trial.

Afenifere also announced the appointment of Dele Farotimi as their National Organising Secretary.

The meeting was attended by delegates from the South West, Kogi, and Kwara states, including notable figures such as Kofoworola Bucknor Akerele and Sola Ebiseni.
