President Bola Tinubu on Sunday received a delegation from the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The delegation was led by the Commander of AFRICOM, General Dagvin Anderson.
Other members of the team include the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria, Keith Heffern; Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to AFRICOM, Ambassador Peter Vrooman; and the Command Senior Enlisted Leader of AFRICOM, Command Sergeant Major Garric M. Banfield.
Also present during the visit was President Tinubu’s Senior Foreign Policy Adviser.
The visit highlights ongoing diplomatic and defence engagements between Nigeria and the United States, with AFRICOM playing a key role in security cooperation across the African continent.
No further details of the discussions were disclosed at the time of filing this report.
