Gunmen have again struck at INEC facilities in Igboeze North Council Area of Enugu State, South East Nigeria, just two weeks after an earlier incident.
Officials of the electoral body on Voters Registration exercise were attacked on their duty posts, with two of them severely injured.
Two voter registration machines and other equipment were equally damaged during the attack that lasted several hours without any rescue from security agents.
INEC Commissioner in charge of Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye confirmed the attack in a statement late Thursday.
Two weeks ago, suspected arsonists had attacked the Igboeze North Local Government Area office of INEC, setting ablaze buildings, operational vehicles and other equipment.

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who visited the area at the time had called on the people to protect public assets in their locality.
Attacks on INEC facilities have been frequent in Enugu State since the agitation by outlawed separatist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB which operate mainly in the South East region of Nigeria.
It is unclear the motives for the seemingly coordinated attacks on the personnel and facilities of Nigeria’s electoral body as the country prepares for the 2023 general elections.
The Enugu State Police command says it is investigating the incident.
