African Agricultural Technology Foundation, AATF, and its partner Open Forum for Agriculture Biotechnology, OFAB, have presented certificates of awards and prizes to the winners of the 2020 OMA Africa awards.
The awards which saw over twenty one journalists in Africa competing with each other named Ngozi Onyejiaku of Africa independent television the best Agriculture reporter in Africa, TV category.
Every year, African Agricultural Technology Foundation, AATF, and its partner open forum for Agriculture Biotechnology, OFAB, set a competition for Agriculture and Science Journalists in Africa with prizes to be won.
Though the year 2020 was fraught with troubles occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic, it did not stop the actualization of the competition.
Having emerged as winners of the award in Nigeria, three journalists were nominated to compete in Africa on TV, Print and Radio categories respectively.
Among them was Ngozi Onyejiaku of Africa Independent Television, AIT, who emerged the winner of the competition in TV category having beaten over 21 journalists from seven African countries.

AATF and its partners use the competition to encourage Agriculture and science journalists in Africa and impact positive changes in them for their works in reporting Agriculture Biotechnology.
Held in Nairobi Kenya, this edition of the competition had editors and moderators from the seven participating countries.
The award has in its package, a certificate of recognition, the latest IPhone 12 Pro, a cash prize and a grant for Agriculture project.
