Bayelsa state government says it is partnering with Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP, to improve the livelihood of rural dwellers through provision of infrastructure and basic amenities.
At the inauguration of the Bayelsa State Project Implementation Unit of RAAMP, this Tuesday in Yenagoa, Governor Douye Diri noted that the initiative was in line with his administration’s policy of creating wealth and driving the state economy through agriculture.
The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, an initiative of the Federal Government was designed to improve the standard of living of the rural population in selected states.

The national coordinator, Aminu Mohammed and his team were in Bayelsa to kick start the programme in the state.
Governor Douye Diri, inaugurating the State project implementation Unit, expresses gratitude for the selection of Bayelsa among the benefiting states.
The Coordinator of RAAMP, says, working with the World Bank and other donor agencies, will help drive and fast-track the project.
With premium placed on agriculture by Governor Douye Diri’s government to boost the state’s economy and create wealth among citizens, the RAAMP initiative is seen as another stepping ground to the realization of the vision.
