AI Literacy: Experts Advocate Curriculum Reform For Nigeria’s Digital Future

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continue to redefine global industries, the Nigerian government has been urged to integrate AI focused and ethics based curriculum into the nation’s education system.

The call was made during a press conference tagged “Kick-off Meeting with Media and Stakeholders on AI Literacy for Everyday People in Nigeria, held at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

Addressing journalists and stakeholders on gains of Artificial intelligence AI, the director of Brian builders Youth development initiative Sanni Issa said every Nigerian must understand the impact and the usefulness of AI in day to day activities.

Saani emphasized the need for Nigerians, especially the youth, to be prepared with the ethical compass and creative mindset required to solve 21st-century challenges through technology.

He added that it is important for the Federal government to include AI in the school curriculum in order for students to understand and be able to make use of it.

The organizer commended Federal Government for the steps taken towards reimagining learning to align with 21st century, noting that the initiative aims to demystify AI and make it accessible, inclusive, and relevant to everyday lives, particularly in education, healthcare, governance, and entrepreneurship.
