Air Chief Commends Troops, Reaffirms Offensive Against Bandits at Kainji

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, has commended troops of Operation Fansan Yama, Sector Three, for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to national security, assuring them of sustained welfare support and intensified air operations against banditry and terrorism.

He gave the assurance during a Christmas Day luncheon with personnel at the Kainji Air Base.

Addressing the troops, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, represented by the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, Kaduna, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, said his presence in Kainji was a deliberate show of solidarity with personnel on the front lines.

He described their sacrifice as the reason millions of Nigerians can celebrate the festive season in peace and Unity.

The Air Chief also noted that the Kainji Air Base remains a critical hub for air power.

He expressed confidence that sustained operational tempo, discipline, and professionalism would restore lasting peace and security across affected regions.

As part of the visit, the Chief of the Air Staff also paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Borgu, where he commended the traditional ruler for his consistent support and cooperation with the Nigerian Air Force, noting that strong civil-military relations have enhanced operational effectiveness and boosted troop morale.

The Christmas luncheon ended on a note of camaraderie and renewed determination, as the Air Chief wished the personnel a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year, reaffirming the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to a safe, secure, and prosperous Nigeria.
