Air strikes

The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladaya Amao has ordered that air operations should be intensified in the entire military theatres of operation as NAF aircraft continue to seek and decimate enemies of the state in their attempts to make life unbearable for innocent Nigerians.

This follows the review of ongoing air operations in Kaduna State by the Air Chief.

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, states that the effect of strikes undertaken by NAF aircraft in the North-West have revealed that several terrorists have been eliminated and their enclaves destroyed.

According to the statement, one of such strikes which occurred on Tuesday resulted in the elimination of 18 terrorists including a well-known terrorist kingpin, Alhaji Shanono, operating in Kaduna State, with over 30 rifles and 20 motorbikes were destroyed.

Similar strikes were also undertaken in the North-East where the Air component of Operation Hadin Kai engaged in conducting air interdiction missions on terrorist targets in Gazuwa, Borno State on Saturday.

Air Marshal Amao further reminded the commanders during the briefing that they must remain steadfast and focus on the task ahead as the Air force cannot afford to let down its guards.
