Nigeria’s first Lady, Aisha Buhari, has been flown to an undisclosed hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for persistent neck pain.

AIT gathered that the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari was flown out of the country this weekend after she returned to Abuja, from Lagos.

Hajiya Buhari had last month paid a condolence visit to Florence Ajimobi, widow of the former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi who died in June from Covid-19 complications.

Buhari was said to have self-isolated for 14 days after her trip to Lagos as a result of the neck pain that refused to go away almost a month after the condolence journey to Lagos.

The first lady was said to have been moved to Dubai after her self-isolation in line with established safety protocol.

AIT also gathered that the first lady, who is now observing bed rest is in stable condition.

Aisha Buhari was publicly seen on July 31, observing the Eid El-Kabir prayers at home with her family.

The prayers were in strict adherence to advisories from the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 and the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

She was later seen in photograghes with members of her family later that day.

When contacted on phone, Barrister Aliyu Abdullahi, Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the First Lady, told AIT’S Yemi Adebayothat he can neither deny nor confirmed the information.

“I have not been in the office for two weeks and I’m currently in Kaduna State, but i am not officially in a position to confirm the development”, he said
