Current Senator representing Adamawa Central, Aishatu Dahiru Binani has won the Adamawa APC Governorship primaries after defeating former Governor Muhammed Bindow, former EFCC Boss Nuhu Ribadu and 3 others.
In a keenly contested Primary elections which lasted 24 hours, Sen. Aishatu Dahiru defeated other contestants to clinch the ticket
Six people slugged it out in the Adamawa APC Governorship primaries
They include Immediate past Governor Jibrilla Bindow, former EFCC boss Nuhu Ribadu, and a Current member of the house of representatives Abdulrazak Namdas.
Others include the immediate past State APC Secretary Wafarninyi Theman, an APC Stalwart Umar Mustafa and the only female Aishatu Dahiru.
At the end of the exercise, Sen. Aishatu Dahiru polled 430 votes followed by Malam Nuhu Ribadu, 288 while former Governor Jibrilla Bindow followed next with 103 among others, according to the returning officer, Gambo Lawan.
In her acceptance speech, the winner of the election, Aishatu Dahiru thanked delegates for the confidence reposed on her and called on her co-contestants to put the result behind them and work together to ensure APC’s victory in the 2023 general elections
Secretary to the government of the federation Boss Mustapha described Aishatu’s victory as a victory for the APC
Senator. Aishatu Dahiru will now face incumbent Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the PDP among other Governorship Candidates across other parties, in the 2023 general elections.
