The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Ondo State has described the continued absence of Governor Rotimi Akereodolu from the Government House, as total disregard for the rule of law.
The Chairman of the Party, Fatai Adams, while addressing journalists in Akure, Ondo State, alleged that while the Deputy Governor is still battling for his political survival, despite President Bola Tinubu’s intervention, there is no clear leader of government business in the state.
For months now, Ondo State has been embroiled in a political crisis, one that could be linked to the continued absence of Governor Rotimi Akereodolu from the state since returning from his medical vacation in September, a development that has been generating reactions from different political watchers.
The latest is coming from the leadership of the main opposition party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Chairman of the party, Fatai Adams, said its high-time Governor, Akereodolu, transmitted power to his deputy, going by the country’s constitution.

The PDP also denounced claims by the All Progressives Congress, APC, that seven PDP members of the State Working Committee would decamp to the ruling party.
Meanwhile, the Ondo State Elders Assembly has urged the state’s Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and the state’s lawmakers to adhere to the counsel and terms of the peace brokered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The elders appealed to the executive and legislative arms to continue to toe the line of peace.
