President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday dismissed speculation that the Tax Reform Acts passed by the National Assembly had been altered. He emphasised that there has been no adulteration of the legislation.
Akpabio subsequently mandated the Clerk of the Senate to distribute gazetted copies of the Tax Reform Acts, signed by President Bola Tinubu, to all Senators.
He says the Acts have also been certified by the Clerk of the National Assembly, making them the only authentic versions.
He stressed that these certified documents are the sole official versions and should not be obtained from or circulated by any other source.
This measure according to him is intended to prevent the spread of documents that do not reflect what was harmonised and passed by both chambers of the National Assembly.
He advised Senators to study only the certified copies and to disregard any other versions in circulation, as they do not represent the legislation as passed or assented to by the President.
