Forty-eight hours after suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (Kogi Central) told the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in New York that she was suspended for raising allegations of sexual harassment against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the Senate has overwhelmingly passed a vote of confidence on Akpabio.
During Thursday’s plenary session, senators reaffirmed their support for Akpabio, emphasizing that the Senate should not be distracted by the sexual harassment claims, as the matter is already before the court.
