A former National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), John Akpan Udoedehe has resigned from the party.
A letter dated 4th of June addressed to the Chairman of Offot Ward 6 in Akwa Ibom State stated that he relinquished all rights which “inured to him as a member of APC, member of the National Advisory Council and member of the National caucus.

Udoedehe stated that the decision to leave the APC was painful but noted that leadership entails adherence to the wishes of the vast majority of associates and allies.
Udoedehe has recently been involved in fierce battle in his home state chapter of APC over the control of the machinery of the party.
