Police stations and primary health centers in Akwa Ibom state are to be installed with solar power for constant electricity supply.

Governor Umo Eno said this at the closing of the maiden edition of the state executive council ministerial briefing and review in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital.

It is a common sight to find police stations and health centers in Nigeria in total darkness with no electricity. This has resulted to poor service delivery in society’s most critical sectors.
But this is about to change in Akwa Ibom state as it is set to take the lead in providing power supply to police stations and health centres according to Governor Umo Eno at the end of the 2024 state exco ministerial briefing and review.

Governor Eno also made known the intention of the state government to be a player in the oil and gas sector.

Major stakeholders in the state who participated in the three day exercise expressed satisfaction with it.

More fall outs from the ministerial briefing were the launch of the Akwa Ibom State Geographical Information System, AKGIS and plans for the resuscitation of the state owned Peacock Paints in Etinan in the next three months.
