Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Eno says his donation of 150 units of two bedroom apartments to low level public servants in the state is in fulfillment of his campaign promise to public servants to better their lot.
Governor Eno said this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital at the donation of the houses to beneficiaries.
As the names of the lucky beneficiaries were called, there were shouts of joy all around the event hall.
Some could not believe it and made their feelings known to the Governor.
Governor Eno stated that the gesture was a promise kept.
He warned against trading off the houses
Head of the Civil Service, Effiong Essien read out the criteria for selection and appreciated the Governor for the unprecedented feat.
The Governor said the next batch of construction of the free houses would commence soon.
