In Akwa Ibom state, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has won 30 out of the 31 LGAs in the local government council elections held on Saturday.
In a statement signed by Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC, Aniedi Ikoiwak the only LGA the PDP lost was Essien Udim , the LGA of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio which was won by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The chairmen elect are to be sworn in by Governor Umo Eno on Monday by 8am.
