The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Akwa Ibom state command, has apprehended some suspects for engaging in illegal refining and bunkering of petroleum products.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Abidemi Majekodunmi, while parading the suspects before newsmen in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, said the corps is out to put those engaging in such illegal acts out of business.

He attributed the discovery of 200 plastic bags of illegally refined diesel, concealed in the truck of 2 suspects, namely Anayo Nwora and Eze Onuoha, a driver and conductor to the alertness of his men.
Another 3 suspects, Kingsley Onyekwere, Martins Anyia and Israel Amaechi were arrested for engaging in illegal bunkering.
The state Commandant lamented the negative impact such illegal acts have on the economy and appeal for credible information from members of the public to help the corps stamp out criminality.
