A group under the aegis of coalition of concerned Akwa Ibom political group, stormed the headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party on Friday calling on the leadership of the party to cancel the purported 3-Man Adhoc Delegates Election exercise in Akwa Ibom State.
The group while demonstrating peacefully for several hours outside of PDP National Secretariat in Abuja with placards say the adhoc delegates have been hijacked by powerful forces within the state structure of the party and as such cannot guarantee equity and fairness for all aspirants for various seats in the rescheduled Party Primaries on May 28th if allowed to prevail.
The group added that Adoption, of consensus candidate may lead to losing power to the opposition political party in the forthcoming general elections in Akwa Ibom state
The group want the party to consider the use of the Statutory Delegates for the rescheduled Party Primaries across Board in Akwa Ibom State, as they have lost confidence in the process of electing the stipulated 3-Man Adhoc Delegates Election in State.
