Religious worship centres in Akwa Ibom State have been directed to operate at half capacity and for not more than an hour per service.
This is part of the new guidelines to help curtail the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
With Nigeria experiencing a third wave of COVID-19 pandemic, culminating in a sharp increase in the number of positive tests, the Akwa Ibom State Government has rolled out new guidelines to help prevent its spread.
According to the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Emmanuel Ekuwem, citizens must take responsibility, by adhering to all Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, guidelines on the pandemic.

Ekuwem said religious worship centers have to make some adjustments.
He advised citizens to monitor and report changes in their health conditions.
The SSG maintained that the state government will continue to monitor the situation, and take actions that may be necessary.
