After nine matches, the Nigeria National League, NNL, has gone on a mid-season break. In Conference B, Akwa United Football Club sits top of the table with 19 points, holding a two-point advantage over their closest rivals.
Chairman of the club, Joseph Eno, says the team is firmly on course to secure promotion back to the top flight.
Eno attributed the team’s impressive performance to strong institutional support from Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, as well as the commitment of the club’s strategic partners.
The Nigeria National League is divided into four conferences, with the top teams from each group earning promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League at the end of the season.
