The Benue State Governor,Hyacinth Alia has declared Friday, October 4th, 2024 work-free to give the electorate of the State enough time to travel to their respective local government areas to prepare for Saturday’s Local Government elections.
A statement by his chief press Secretary Tersoo Kula emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process and encouraged all citizens to take advantage of this work-free day to exercise their civic duty.
He expressed confidence that with the right commitment and participation, the elections will be conducted smoothly and fairly.

The Governor further urged all public and private sector organizations to support the initiative by allowing their employees to utilize this day for travel and preparation.
He also charged the citizens to prioritize peaceful conduct and collaboration during the elections, reinforcing the need for unity and cooperation among all parties involved.
