Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has received the remaining 89 abductees of the Kurmin Wali church attack, in Kajuru LGA, bringing relief to families and the community after weeks of uncertainty.
The victims were received at the Kashim Ibrahim House on Thursday.
Weeks of fear have given way to relief and celebration in Kurmin Wali community of Kaduna State, following the release of the remaining 89 abductees of the church attack.
The release, coming 18 days after the January 18 abduction, brings the total number of freed victims to 172.
Kaduna State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Maaji Caleb, expressed gratitude to the State Government and security agencies for what he described as a swift and coordinated response that ensured the safe return of the abductees.
Governor Sani described the incident as unfortunate, noting that his administration has intensified efforts to address insecurity across the state over the past two years.
He commended security agencies for their professionalism and dedication throughout the rescue operation.
Governor Sani announced that the request for a military base around the Kurmin Wali axis is currently under consideration.
He further revealed plans to construct a road, hospital, and skill acquisition centre in the community as part of long-term measures to restore safety, rebuild confidence, and promote development.
