There are growing indications that Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf may be defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
However, neither the Governor nor his media aides have confirmed the development.
There have been speculations linking Governor ABBA Yusuf to to the APC for sometime now. But the latest could be more than just speculation.
On Sunday night, news of Governor Yusuf’s political future gained fresh momentum as reports circulated suggesting he might leave the NNPP for the All Progressives Congress.
On Monday, the NNPP chairman, Kano State chapter Hashim Suleiman in a broadcast, acknowledged that certain party members are agitating to defect to the APC.
Although he did not specifically mention the name of the governor or the individuals making the moves, speculations however suggest the governor may join the APC
The NNPP chairman expressed concern over the development and urged party members to reconsider their decision.
He emphasized the need for unity and commitment to fulfilling the promises made to the people of Kano State.
Repeated efforts to reach the Governor’s media managers Sanusi Bature and Mustapha Mohammed for confirmation of the defection claims have so far yielded no response.
