In the much anticipated Governorship primary slated for Saturday, sixteen aspirants are jostling for the party’s ticket.

In Less than 24 hours, a candidate that will fly the flag of the All Progressives Congress in the November 16, 2024 Governorship Election in Ondo state is expected to emerge.

Sixteen Aspirants which include two females already cleared by the APC Screening Committee include, the incumbent Governor and a top Contender, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Former Commissioner for finance, Wale Akinterinwa, Sen.Jimoh Ibrahim and Olusola Oke,SAN.,Isaac Kekemeke among others.

In the build up to the primary, aspirants had toured the length and breadth of the 18 local government areas of the state to interface with party leaders and members to canvass support and votes.

The political intrigues are becoming glaring daily ahead of Saturday contest as Seven out of the 16 Governorship aspirants have already petitioned the national secretariat of the party complaining irregularities at different levels.

For instance the aspirants faulted the revalidation of the membership register slated to be used for the primary election.

The development came after the police authority confirmed the arrest of two persons for carrying out illegal registration of All Progressives Congress (APC) members at a private residence.
