Senator Natasha Akpoti, Emmanuel Uduaghan

The husband to Senator Natasha Akpoti, Emmanuel Uduaghan has broken his silence regarding the ongoing controversy between his wife and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio over allegations of sexual advances.

In a personally signed letter, Uduaghan disclosed that he had met with Akpabio to address the issue, urging him to treat his wife with the respect and courtesy she deserves while also recognizing their long standing friendship.

According to him, both parties initially reached an understanding and agreed to resolve the matter amicably but despite this agreement, his wife has continued to express concerns over the harassment she has allegedly endured from the Senate President.

Uduaghan called on the Senate leadership to ensure that his wife is treated with the dignity she rightfully deserves while the relevant authorities and the courts handle the allegations.

He expressed concern that unnecessary distractions are being created, diverting attention from the gravity of the allegations which he says should bother anyone who upholds strong family values.

Uduaghan who is the Alema of Warri stated that his wife had confided in him about her experiences with Akpabio, whom he had previously considered a family friend, emphasizing that as a traditional ruler who values peace, respects constituted authority;and upholds core family principles, he has handled the matter with maturity and responsibility.
