Former Aviation Minister Stella Oduah and her co-defendants have begun refunding part of the money allegedly involved in a 2-point-5 billion naira fraud case currently before a Federal Capital Territory High Court.
At the resumed proceedings before Justice Hamza Muazu of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Maitama, the prosecution revealed that some funds linked to the case have already been returned to government coffers.
The trial involves former Aviation Minister Stella Oduah and several co-defendants, including one Gloria Odita, who are facing charges over the alleged misappropriation of about 2-point-5 billion naira.
The prosecution alleges that the funds were linked to contracts awarded during Oduah’s tenure as aviation minister.

While the exact amount refunded has not yet been disclosed in open court, prosecutors say the development indicates a move by the defendants to return part of the disputed funds to the Federal Government.
The 65 year old Stella Oduah served as a Minister of Aviation from July 2011 to February 2014 and as a Senator from Anambra North Senatorial District. She was also the Director of Administration and Finance during the political campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The case continues at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, with further hearings expected as the prosecution proceeds with its evidence.
